The File Converter

I am surprised why it has so many users with high ratings. I am very disappointed with this. I had to purchase a trial version in order to test converting a 4+ minutes video in mov to mp4 format. It took several hours for this conversion and then I could never find the converted mp4 file. I tried a much smaller clip of this video also but was unsuccessful in finding the converted mp4 file. I also noticed that the conversion process requires an internet connection. But why? Is there something fishy going on while using this app? I have canceled the trial immediately and am now going to uninstall it from my iPad. I have wasted more than a day on this trial. Now I have found a much better free app that did the 4 mins conversion from mov to mp4 in a few seconds without any internet connection and has a much better user interface.

This used to be the Swiss army knife of file converting apps. It used to support way more than 60 output formats. As you guessed it, they removed some of the output formats (M4A and epub) that it clearly says it can do on the sample images! Why you ask???? Well they decided to create 5 more apps that convert specific file types (I.e audio files app, image files app, ebook fils app, etc.) And want to charge you a premium pass or lifetime pass in each individual app. It's greedy and discouraging to pay for an app, only for a developer to remove some features and place them in other apps in order to make more money. I used to think this was a 5 star app and would always recommend it before. Now I won't even recommend anyone waste their time with this app.

I found this app right in the nick of time. My intro animation class requires audio in the background for the final project (due in 2 days). I used my iPhone to record the audio in m4A, but the software for the class can't process m4A. This app quickly converted the audio files which I'll now trim in another app, then, email to my MacBook. My only wish is that this app could trim the files and sync with my MacBook all on its own. For what it can do, I give it 5 stars. I highly recommend this app for students like me who have specific file format needs.
