Was searching for alternative app to Sketch Club, which is incredible and wonderful. But I needed easier tools for grade K - 2 to create Pixel art. This is it. Very simple, colors easy to select, erase removes each pixel and the save to photo gallery on my iPad is extremely clear. I bought full version to remove ads.

Before I say anything,!just some common-sense advice; NEVER - EVER believe ANY 'review' which is '5-star & FAWNS over the product (ths goes for ANYthing you might consider purchasing - app or otherwise), with virtually NOTHING said about the item other than how 'great,' 'AMAZING' something is. Ok, now that I said that, onto 'Art Studio Lite.' When I was a kid, I didn't have a Lite Brite, but, I LOVED the commercial, and whenever I was at someone's home which DID have LB, I was THRILLED to... 'make things... with Lite brite' (the commercial jingle went like that, pardon me. I downloaded AS L to give a 'test drive,' & was saddened from the get-go. I'm NOT anywhere close 2 being even slightly heavy. I have - what my piano-playing friends said were 'slender, piano-fingers.' There's absolutely NO WAY I could select ANY bulb, etc. The icons are SO infinitesimally small, that I could not select ANY thing. How small? The avg size of the objects you must select from are so tiny that if you can imagine the size of the keyboard keys (ANY letter), you can EASILY fit 4, maybe 6 of AS L's 'tool' keys on it. That is small. Unless you've been able to use the 'shrinking ray' used 2 miniaturise Raquel Welch in FANTASTIC VOYAGE, forget it.

This is a really great app- it was even more than I was looking for! It emulates classic toys like the etch-a-sketch and lite-brite, and has a third section for creating pixel drawings. The e-a-s was pretty realistic. The knobs still take a while to turn to get from one side to the other and it's still hard to make a circle! Of course you shake it to wipe the screen as well. The lite-brite lookalike section was pretty good too. The pegs looked realistically peg-like rather than just being glowing circles. The pixel section is just a grid that lets you fill in the boxes with colors. I think it would be good for lots of craft purposes, like making cross stitch patterns, or if you do anything with sprites. I'd like if I could use any color I wanted for this section. Right now there is only the rainbow of colors.
