Just such a weird preferred translation options for so many words. And you notice it much more not when you read an actual book, but when you have some words in favorite and you want to learn them in lesson page. It just choose the least usable translation for the word, so when you see it in a lesson, you know the word, you know the translation, but you don’t see the right option and just trying to guess, because the app chose some crazy definition for the word. And you can change it by yourself, but come on, I paid for the subscription not to waste most of the time I have for learning not on actual reading or memorizing, but on fixing translation.
This is my favorite iPhone app by far. I’m addicted to it. Its exceptional UI doesn’t attempt to trick me into learning with a dopamine hit. Where most language apps try to offer you a trip to a candy store, this is a trip to the gym. You feel like you accomplished something at the end of a study session. My app didn’t work after an update. I emailed support and they responded to me within minutes. What’s more, the email felt so genuine—like it was written by an actual person, rather than a computer. I love this app. I hope that its creators become very wealthy, and that they, their friends, and their families are blessed.
I like that I can just copy the word somewhere else and it would automatically appear in reDict when I open it! While in google translate I need to delete the previously translated words first, then paste the new word and press the translate button! 3 steps! It’s way too many, when you’re reading the book and don’t want to loose the plot while translating. Also, reDict works offline!
