This used to be a very handy app, everything would work seamlessly. But lately, there’s been more and more occurrences of “Ghost Buses”. Buses which don’t show up in the app, but turn up randomly. An example was I was just waiting at a bus stop. The app stated the next bus was 13 minutes away. I decided I can walk it quicker, so I set off. I kept checking the app in case a bus would magically appear or be brought into service (I don’t know how that process works). As I was approaching another bus stop, the bus I required came speeding past. Still no sign of it in the app. This is now becoming a regular occurrence and is extremely frustrating. I don’t know if this is an issue with TFL or the app itself, as I don’t have any of the dot matrix stops near me but it’s an extreme pain in the backside!
The important thing is GPS on your phone quickly locating were you are so that the app can tell you which bus numbers are available and when the next bus arrived. This app does this in a beautiful way. I just wish there is a way to change the background colours/ am not particularly keen on the pinkish red colour, how about dark theme please!!!!!!!!!!
I love this app and couldn't manage on my commute without it - it takes the TfL data and translates it into a clear and easy to use interface. Favourite stops and the ability to see bus routes (and therefore pick out when your bus will arrive at the destination stop, for example) are incredibly useful features. I recommend it to everyone.
