Reviews: What People Think About Pocket Geiger Counter Pro

This is a very expensive app that first of all should be included in the price if the product!
Second when running the app there is a spinning nuclear icon in the middle that gets totally distorted covering all the readings if you turn your phone on its side.
Third there are no good clear cut explanations for what the different readings actually mean. I guess they expect us all to be nuclear scientist!
There is wording at the top right of screen that says "unsupported device" yet this software and hardware are what they sell for THIS device.
Very disappointed at this point for the price paid and I do not recommend the product or app until some bug fixes are made.

I'd give this 4, maybe 5 stars if the user manual were expanded to provide information on how the various settings work in the Settings page.
I spent 6 years on nuclear submarines, with primary responsibility for monitoring and controlling shipboard radiation levels, but it's been a while since those days and detection technology has advanced greatly. The way that the Pocket Geiger UI is set up to work with the plug-in detection hardware (purchased separately) for the iPhone shows a good degree of sophistication, but the various Settings in the UI are not explained at all in the User Manual.
Come on guys, you got my interest here (and I purchased the hardware from your US distributor), PLEASE expand the User Manual to match the App.
Thank you.

I bought the device, I bought this app and only then it turns out that iPhone 5S is not supported and doesn’t get any meaningful readings from the device.
About Pocket Geiger Counter Pro
(You cannot measure the radiation only by using this application program)
iPhone can be used as a radiation detector, as it is called Geiger counter, by connecting the voice output of the Pocket Geiger Counter with the microphone input.
For more information about Pocket Geiger Counter, see http://www.radiation-watch.org
■Specifications
Sensor: PIN photo diode x8 (reverse biased and shielded)
Detectable radiations: Beta and Gamma radiation
Measurement range: 0.05uSv/h~10mSv/h (Calibrated using Cs-137), 0.01cpm~300000cpm
Measuring time: about 5 minutes at the dose rate of 0.05uSv/h
Energy response: :662keV~1333keV
■Software features
- uSv/h and its counting error calculation
- CPM calculation
- Manual setting interface for time range and threshold *Pro version only
- Oscilloscope *Pro version only
- Detection log visualization *Pro version only
- Circuit diagram *Pro version only
- Save and log *Pro version only
- Measurement data with location information sharing between users on the map *Pro version only
■ Data sent by the application
- Date and time
- Position (latitude, longitude)
- The value measurement (uSv/h, cpm)
* The following information is not intended to send.
- Personally identifiable information (such as device ID)
The data is uploaded by the application is never present, be open to the public.
■Notice
During measurement, the battery consumption will be increased so that with the addition of GPS location information in the measured value.
Please note.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
*NOTE*
We are making the smart radiation detector that everyone can buy at a low price especially in and around Fukushima.
The project is supported by volunteer engineers, designers and scientists.
