Gettysburg Battle App

This is a great app for when visiting Gettysburg. As you drive, bike, walk around the Battlefield the app will use GPS to show you where you are in the Battlefield and important locations and events that happened there. You can have the app show you information by day of the battle and by the forces at Battle —for example, show the actions of Union forces on Day 2. Some of the people in my group did not have cellular signal at all places on the Battlefield and the app has the ability to download the maps in case you don’t have signal. I highly recommend the app when you visit Gettysburg —it adds a lot of information and makes the experience more educational and more informative.

We were about to buy the audio tour from the gift shop when someone mentioned this app to me. What a great suggestion. The GPS enabled map is a masterpiece. The write ups at each stop are concise and informative. The audio and video inserts are great too. Someone spent a LOT of time on this app. A masterpiece. can’t believe it is free. Thanks. Can’t recommend enough.

Our family used the GPS option of this app as we followed the park's Auto Tour signs. The Auto Tour map provided by the Visitors Center only has short paragraphs summarizing points. While this app is very informative, well organized, and full of historical photos to help visitors better understand the progression of the three days of the battle.
