We were evaluating a number of mobile data collection platforms in
preparation for an 8-country survey on vaccine hesitancy. Device Magic
(DM) was one of the platforms we evaluated, and immediately decided to
use it for the survey. DM has a very intuitive and user-friendly
interface. The ability to drag, and drop a variety of field types
vastly simplifies the process of form creation. Behind the simple
interface lies a very powerful engine that provides functionality to
rival any database management system; but best of all, DM offers
unparalleled tech support, which made it possible for us to develop
the survey forms in record time! DM may not be the most cost-effective
option out there, but it is certainly worth the investment in time
saved!

I’ve been trying to make this app work, but it’s more frustrating to me than it’s worth. I can see the potential of the app, but the way it was formatted for Fire Protection inspections, the time to proof read and fix all the doubling up on the same questions, questions that don’t even apply to the work that’s being performed (when there’s not a problem with the system it’ll ask for a severity and pictures). I want to believe by not being able to submit due to errors/unanswered questions is a good thing, but it’s frustrating when the unanswered questions don’t even apply to the work.
This is a small part of the problems I have found.
