Blue Nile - Diamonds & Jewelry

Yes I know this is meant to review the app. However, Blue Nile won't allow you to review their products on their web site unless you write a good review. If you write a bad review, they don't post it. I ordered a diamond ring, in their photos, it was absolutely stunning. When it arrived, it was the most disgusting stone. It was gray and dull and awful. This was a $17,000 ring, over a 2 carat round solitaire. They took it back, but they lied about the stone. I went to my local jewelers store, and by local, I mean a small local business and found the most amazing stone. See diamonds in person.

I love searching for diamonds on the Blue Nile website, but this app is not as good. You can't select key diamond options like fluorescence, table size, depth, etc., so searching means having to click on a lot of stones that turn out to be not what you are looking for. You don't know until you click into each stones details. I would still enjoy the "try on" feature in the app, if I could find it. I've searched all over that app. There is no "app help" feature either, so I can't get help with it. I'm disappointed.

I purchased my fiancé’s ring through this app. It was easy to find what I was looking for in the app and it’s updated to support the screen of the iPhone X. There are some design glitches like when you add something to the cart and prepare to buy it, the icons along the bottom are overlapping with the text. This app should add support for Apple Pay. Also, this app would be much more useful if it supported Apple’s ARKit and you could actually “wear” a ring on your hand to see how it might look before buying it.
