Say Color

A great free app that allows you to point your smartphone camera at an object and then press a button to announce the color. I wish there was an option for it to automatically announce each color without pressing a button each time to make it a little easier for blind people to use that are holding other objects and the phone at the same time. I also wish there was a setting to make the color options more basic, instead of advanced colors like maroon or olive green. Overall this is the best free app of its kind that I’ve found. If you’re looking for a free simple app that has audio announcement of colors without a lot of extras this is it.

I have trouble distinguishing color and this generalizes color to something useful to me. Other apps get too pixel focused and don't get the general color. Great app!

Pretty cool concept, though it would be nice to get the true color regardless of the light level. Almost impossible to successfully do. Speaking the color is fairly useless to me, but I can see where color-blind or otherwise visually- impaired folks could benefit. Still, neat app.
