Foscam Surveillance Pro

The Foscam Pro app has been great for me. I have many Foscam cameras in two different homes and the app is very reliable for me. I am writing this review on a cruise ship in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico and I can view all my cameras while away from home. I bought a new IPad and was able to add all my different model cameras and have them work. I have used other apps including Foscam’s own app, but I sometimes have problems with the cameras loading so I go back to this app and the previews always work. I recommend this app highly!

I have 5 Foscam cameras that I monitor when away. This app is perfect for me to check and control from my smart phone. My cameras let me know if they detect motion and this app allows me see what's going on. I can turn on/off or adjust motion detection from the app as well. When on wi-fi you can use the app all you want. I have a limited data plan and taking an occasional look has not been a problem. The one issue I’ve found is the snapshot saving to camera roll does not work. Tells me to allow access to microphone but that option is not available. After multiple attempts to contact them for support I get no response.

I was happy with the old app, so I paid for this new version expecting it to be better. Instead, I found 2 problems: 1. It is not as forgiving with camera support. One of my cameras is a Foscam-clone (TenvisJPT3815W) which worked fine using Foscam 8918W setting on the old app. It gets hung on 'querying camera controls' on this new app. 2) if listening to another app's audio, the old app would allow the audio to play, unless you explicitly turned on the camera audio. The new audio always interrupt other audio, even when cameras are muted. This forces me to stop listened, while peeking at a camera, then switch back to the other app and restart my music/audiobook. The user support for this is poor; yet, they beg you to not write negative reviews.
