Look, I don’t know why the solunar cycle works, but it does. And no, not every animal is active in both types of periods. (Squirrels, for instance, seem far more active in the minor period near me.) And yes, sunrise/sunset is also always active for most animals. ...but I know this. I can be stalking or sitting out in the woods and I often know when the period I was waiting for started because the bugs and birds start making tons of noise. I typically spot almost nothing outside of the major and minor periods. This makes my hunting time more productive by helping me isolate key times to make sure I’m in position in the field. It has saved me tons of time and almost all of my harvests have been during (or within about 30 mins after) one of the periods.

I started using this app 5 years ago. I joined a hunting club with 50 stands on 5,000 acres after really looking at the app I realized I could mark the stands and label them. I never realized what I huge help this would be, but it sure makes it easy to find stands before sun up. Last wkend my son shot a big 10 point 20 min before dark. After searching for an hour in the dark we finally decided to ride side by side through the woods where we ended up jumping the deer, but because of fallen tree in thick woods lost him again. I stopped and marked on isolunar app a deer print on the map where we last saw the deer. We returned to that spot in thick woods and found the deer 30’ from that spot. I wish I could put the pic of my son and the deer on here so you could see why I was so happy to find the deer. He scored 140. Also, the app is very accurate on deer moving. Happy Hunting. I've never placed a whole lot of faith in the solunar tables. Conditions on the water are dynamic, and all kinds of things can and will interfere with wildlife patterns. That said, I've seen the solunar tables in action too many times to discount them entirely. I've come to the conclusion that all things being equal - that is to say if other factors aren't prohibitively interfering with feeding patterns - the solunar tables will give you a good indication of wildlife feeding activity. This app does an excellent job. It is user-friendly, easy to understand, and true to the solunar table.
