Hiking Rocky Mountain N. P.

This app has a nice simple layout and good information on the hikes. It would be really nice to add a "favorite" feature that would allow users to tag the hikes they plan to do.

This app was my "go to" resource for planning in advance for a hiking trip to RMNP we took this summer. What a wealth of information literally at your fingertips, from the trail elevation profiles, trail maps and trailhead locations to weather, climate, and sunrise/sunset times! The trail descriptions were not overly verbose, but that can be easily supplemented from other sources. You can use this app to get the lay of the land, choose the best time of year to go, and even decide what time to start your hikes in the mornings. We even once consulted a trail elevation profile in the app while on the trail and it helped us confirm we hadn't gotten off track. They also have an app for the Smoky Mountains which I'm using to plan a trip we are taking later this month.

This is one of those apps that you think "Why hasn't anyone done this until now?" It does exactly what it says it does: it provides you the hiking trails! And it does so in a very well-laid-out format. I've bought a bunch of these apps by TUA Outdoors and have used two of them. They worked perfectly for planning and I just can't recommend them enough if you plan on visiting any of the parks. They are a no-brainer purchase. I can't wait to use the rest of them at the other parks (and use them again at Yellowstone and Grand Teton!) The best way I could describe them is that they're like having a Falcon Hiking Trail book in a great, concise format on your iPhone. I love them!
