Collins Greek Dictionary

It would be nice to have the words spoken. My German Collins dictionary has an audio so you can hear the words. It would be nice to have more specific words. I looked up sugars and found the Greek word for sugar but only one word for a specific type of sugar, namely glucose. Other common sugars like fructose and lactose were not included.

This is a good dictionary, but the developers need to add some basic functionality to allow recognizing conjugated forms of verbs — lack of this basic feature makes it impossible to look up words in example sentences because it doesn’t recognize them since they are conjugated or declined. Hope they will add this. Still, very good content for medium-size Gk En Gk dict!

We should all expect a lot more from electronic dictionaries. A dictionary for Greek should conjugate every verb in every tense and mood, and every noun and every adjective in every case. It should be possible to look up every word in every form in which it occurs. This one does not even give the genders or the plural forms of nouns. To get the gender you have to look up the English translation. There are no verb conjugations at all. So many common words cannot be looked up at all. The Collins German-English dictionary at least provides a complete conjugation table for every verb and the genders and plurals of nouns. So there's no excuse for not doing a little better with the Greek. An outrageous feature of this app is that it periodically pops up a window that asks you to give it five stars. You can close the window but you cannot decline.
