At the end of each mission, the screen goes green. You can hear the game sounds in the background but the green screen doesn't go away until you force close the game.

At the end of level 22 the screen goes green and freezes then when u force close the app and restart the game your back at level 22 and can not upgrade your weapons after level 8 on the weapons
