This is a fun digging/mining game that scratches the incremental-progress itch that we’re often looking for in phone games. It doesn’t really have any peril like its inspirations(?)/predecessors (that I loved) like [Edit: spelling the game name right - how embarrassing] Motherload or Steam World Dig. That would be worse for a pc/console game, but it’s perfect for mobile (and younger players). The ads aren’t terribly intrusive, but I’m glad that a recent update just added an IAP to disable them. That makes me feel much better letting my kids play. Also, it’s just a good game; the dev should feel good about charging for it (even if $3 is a pittance and modern game pricing is just bewildering). Last, I just want mention how much I love how the game keeps adding little systems and upgrades well past what you would normally expect. It’s just very cleverly done. Once I finish writing this, l need to go see if the dev has released anything else. This game easily earns a 5/5 and a Touch Arcade (RIP) comment-section ascii cat. <3
Reminded me of the old dog games that were mindless fun and this game scratches that itch while being full of surprises. Unlock new areas or content has surprising depth for such a simple game and building your best pickaxe and skills is fun. Definitely worth the download if you haven’t touched a dig game in awhile and use to enjoy them.
The game play is very repetitive and easy going. Almost meditative. There is one ad every… 40 minutes or so? I heard about the game from Desert Bus for Hope and have enjoyed it in my little breaks in the day.
