I’m really enjoying using this app! The stories are a nice length because even when I’m very tired after working all day I still feel motivated to complete my daily learning and it’s not overwhelming. It’s nice that the new vocabulary is repeated in multiple stories to give you different examples of its use. The stories are entertaining while still teaching vocabulary and grammar that I can actually use in daily conversation. Is it possible to add a feature where we can search a word present in the stories and then get a list of all the sentences it appears in? (For example, I’m learning the word 유명하다 and I’d like to see all the sentences it appears in one one place.) Even if the story the word is used in in later levels is “locked” until I progress further, it would be nice to see the sentences. There is also one small issue with the app that can make navigating a little bit annoying. If I go back to a previous level to review old stories (through the book icon, not the headphones icon so that I can click on vocab as needed) when I exit that story it takes me out of the level I’m trying to review and puts me automatically back into the later level. (I mean if I was reviewing a story in level 1, when I exit the story the app automatically puts me back in the Level 2 content list). So I have to backtrack to continue reviewing the various chapters of old stories. Can this be fixed or is there a way to turn this feature off that I’m missing?
** Updated Review ** I just finished my first Level 4 story series and it was so rewarding and motivating!!! I bit the bullet and bought a year subscription at the discounted promotion rate. I am so glad I made this purchase! This is exactly the type of material I needed to help me see and understand grammar in context. The stories and articles reflect everyday life and situations, making the vocabulary and dialogues instantly useful. Seriously a game-changer for me, as I have been “stuck” at level 4-ish for years - learning the same grammar points over and over again, but not really being able to insert them into my own conversation patterns. This is helping me grasp how grammar is really used…. and helping me build useful new vocabulary, too. Thank you for this app!!!! Previous review: This app is exactly what I was looking for to improve listening and reading…. BUT I won’t be subscribing unless the price comes way down. I don’t even spend this much for Netflix! I’ve been a Premium subscriber to TTMIK for a long time. I agree with another reviewer that there should be a heavily discounted option for people already committed to a Premium subscription. The two subscriptions together are too expensive.
UPDATE! Thank you for the help! I just found the article stack with your guidance. I’m a beginner - just about to start TTMIK level 3 - and I find the articles quite a bit easier for me at this point. TTMIK is awesome for learning Korean. I like this app because they are working on new methods to help us improve. I like the highlighted words that can be added to a list. The stories and articles are short allowing me to complete one when I don’t have the time for a complete TTMIK lesson. I love that the speed of the reader can be changed. Even if I don’t know all of the words - I can improve my reading and speaking speed. I don’t mind the price - it’s easily worth more than the cost per day. I would like the ability to go back to previous articles - I can only go back to previous stories. A translation would be great. I would also like the ability to print the articles and stories (double spaced!) so that I can write things out as I translate - although writing them out by hand as I do now is good practice :) The vocabulary test could be more difficult - it’s too easy right now. For example - the “to do” words need both choices to have “to do” endings. The vocab test is fun - it would be nice to have the ability to keep it going longer. Three times is a bit early to learn a word.
