The Pros: -You can change far more options than competing iOS tools. - VO editing!! -Once you figure it out the back up, compare, and offline tools are very good. The Cons: - Desperately needs good documentation and tutorials. I mean, there is basically nothing, which is a little unnerving when fiddling with the inner workings of your car - Non-expert mode short cuts are fairly limited. Competing products are better. - Can’t create your own cheat codes on mobile -App slow to receive updates -No bit level editor Bottomline, if you’re a novice, steer away from this or be very cautious at first. Back everything up!!! If you’re an intermediate coder, this strikes a good balance but would be greatly enhanced with good documentation.

BimmerUtility is excellent software but for the iOS version, in Expert Mode, it has a limitation that significantly negates its usefulness. It will not save custom values. This problem applies to all ECUs. The values can be changed and even appear to be changed and initially saved, but the revised custom values are not saved. I corresponded with BimmerUtility. They acknowledged this problem and indicated a revision to the iOS version would eventually be released fixing it but they refused to give any indication at all when this would happen. For my needs, this software is mostly useless until they fix a problem it is advertised to do and even appears to do. Refusing to provide any indication of their scheduled release with a fix makes me very skeptical it will happen at all. Very disappointed with an otherwise potentially excellent product that has, so far, provided only minimal usefulness to me.
