The app didnโt connect, then finally did, then it seemed to operate the unit correctly, then it didnโt and hasnโt in a long time. Itโs July 2025, $mokiโs review โJunk appโ is a year old, and everything described is accurate. I canโt get the unit to turn on and cool, not with the app, the control on the unit, unplugging and replugging, etc. The schedule in the app looks fine, and I even get pop up notifications on my phone when itโs supposed to turn on and off. The manual controls on the dial, as weird as they are, also seem fine when I try to run it manually. Sometimes tbs fan turns on for a minute if Iโm lucky. I canโt get the thing to cool by any means and itโs hot in the summer.
Overall, the app works the way that is should. It was a little buggy in the beginning, but there have been some improvement over time. However, I do lose connection, but think this is more to do with my WiFi network more than the App.
The app seems like the easiest part of this advanced technology, but itโs awful. I can pair my heat pump easier than others, but setting up a schedule for 2 or 5 days per week (weekday or weekend) effectively kills the AC from working in the AZ summer. AC is on manually as needed, a cooling schedule event starts (tried โsmart modeโ first and then โcool modeโ later because I donโt know what โsmartโ refers to-heat or cool?), and then the AC function stops while the fan continues. The AC can be restarted manually with the physical dial, but it frequently defaults back to the busted schedule after some unknown period. None of the flips between manual and schedule modes come with mobile notifications. It would important to notify that sort of transition. 2nd beef: Changing or deleting schedules is not possible. The app spins and then it times out with an error. I have to disconnect and reconnect with Wi-Fi to clear schedules and make some new schedule attempt. 3rd beef (hardware, not the app): Give me 2 or 3 physical buttons on the unit. The user dial clicks to switch the setting mode and spins to change the selection. Itโs not possible to see all the operating data on the dial at once. The info is in the app on one screen, but itโs not clear if the unit is operating manually or inside of a schedule (a broken schedule that fails to cool). Next summer I bet I offer this to a tenant and we go to a central system. A final decision comes after some winter months.
