After my abuela passed away, our family found out that she was not “Hispanic” as previously thought, but she was Kumeyaay. Since then a few of my cousins and I have been on quest to find out all that we can, and I decided I wanted to learn the language. This app has been a tremendous help!!!

-A Search section
-Culture Notes, images, and videos
The mission statement of the Kumeyaay Language Consortium is to “preserve and restore the Kumeyaay Language by recording, archiving and promoting the use of the Kumeyaay language in our communities.” This app is one means to accomplish this. The project was funded by the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians and gifts the app to the Kumeyaay Nation. We hope you will enjoy using this app to learn the Kumeyaay language, culture, and history.
