The Office: Somehow We Manage

Always been a huge office fan and I love idle games as I’m a stay at home mom and sometimes it’s about the only way I can get a little break and be entertained without having to use much mental energy 😂 I’ve been playing for a couple months now and honestly spending WAY too much money on a game when I’ve agreed NOT to spend money on games so we can save 🤦🏻‍♀️ but I get so into this game and want to get ahead faster to reach more chapters! It’s a terrible habit BUT, the game really is THAT good. I’ve had a few bugs here in there with my purchase rewards disappearing and game time not saving. It’s anew game so, they’re still working out the kinks. Normally, that’d be IT for me playing a game or at the very least I’d never trust them to spend money again. But, I also think that the customer service team for this game is just wonderful and efficient. Every single time I have had an issue that I reported, I had a response within 1-2 business days and they typically had my issue resolved by 1 or 2 messages! *tip- if you do have an issue- take a screenshot of your user I’d found on the settings page and send that in with your initial issue report. Sometimes that information alone is all they need to come to a resolution! And since the new update, I haven’t had this issue once! So yes- absolutely amazing game and about the only app I’ve ever taken this much time to review when I wasn’t even prompted. 🙌🙌

Edited to update: So after the most recent update, I decided to re-download. I had to wait and work myself up past where I was previously before I updated this review. But as of right now, everything is running great! You could fly through each episode but I’ve taken my time to complete all (if not, most) of the challenges in each episode and it’s helped collect a decent amount of cards that are typically hard to get. The Events help in this aspect as well so as long as they keep those coming, I shouldn’t have an issue. Changed my review from 2 to 5 stars. Shoutout to the devs for listening and reading these reviews! Big sad! Die hard fan of The Office, so naturally I had to download this game. Unfortunately, every time I get to episode 8 or 9, the game doesn’t let me log back in 😔Once the game starts to load, the ‘download assets’ screen will pop up. I’ll hit ‘download’ and either the game will just force close or the ‘download assets’ will hit 100%, go away, and then pop back up asking me to ‘download’ again. I’ve wanted this game to work so bad that I’ve completely deleted it on 4 separate occasions and had to repeat all of my progress just for this bug/glitch to happen again. I’ve even tried turning off my wifi and using data but to no avail. If not for this issue, I’d definitely give it 5 stars. I’ll probably just delete it indefinitely for now and maybe if I come back in a few months and it works then I can change this to 5 stars.

As with most who download this game, I’m sure, I was so excited to play a game based on one of my favorite shows. It starts off great and super addicting. There’s some glitches that start to happen, like the gift baskets don’t load correctly or you get the same upgrade cards over and over instead of the ones you need. Maybe a trade option would help? But the part that REALLY stinks is at a certain level (for me around episode 12 or 13) it stopped giving you decor upgrades all together but in order to automate any desks you have to have a certain level of decor. In order to get the the next level you have to automate desks, collect cards, and spend coffee. I can’t do two of those because I have nothing to upgrade since I don’t have any relevant upgrade cards being given. It also doesn’t offer decor cards for purchase with coffee like it does with the desk upgrades. Maybe in two weeks I’ll slowly collect 150 cards (that is solely dependent on the games gifts) and perhaps I’ll get one new task a week until I’ve completed enough to pass the level, but after a month of just waiting for the “once every four hour prizes” and finally maybe advancing to the next episode, I know I’ll just run into the same problem again. The ONLY way around it is the shovel out LOTS of real cash to buy scottcoins. I’d seriously have to spend at least $10 to pass the episode just this week. DISAPPOINTING. UPDATE: It seems that they went in and updated the game so that you can actually earn decor cards. I’m no longer stuck! Still some glitches but nothing that can’t be fixed with reopening the app.
