The Local Edit | Shopping App

If you want to start supporting local more, The Local Edit is definitely the place to shop. Apart from this being a super aesthetically pleasing app (sometimes I just want to window-shop to use it’s beautiful interface), The Local Edit also has the most exquisite products — so proud that it is all LOCAL! I can’t wait to make my first purchase. Incredible app and such an inspirational message behind it.

I really adore this app. It is a beautifully designed app that is the first online shopping experience that really gives me a great browsing experience. I don’t feel like I am just flipping through a catalogue but it feels like I get to browse through a real shop and make new finds of products and local creators. Kudus to the UX team and the developers!

The idea of this app is genius as it brings together a number of mostly sustainable brands throughout South Africa under one roof, making for a lovely local shopping experience. However the app itself has a few frustrating glitches - firstly it takes too long to load the next set of items when scrolling down. Secondly, if you go into an item, no matter how far down you were with scrolling, when you come out of that item it will go right back to the top. It makes it impossible to get through items and shop because you get so frustrated by having to scroll back to where you were every time you go into an item.
