Samedi Manor: Idle Simulator

A fun idle game until the difficulty curve kicks in. Very fun game, graphics are fun and original, aesthetically pleasing. The battle mechanism is a bit weird, not really in depth and it only happens at the end of the level, and you may want to upgrade your units for battle but you’ll never be able to afford it because all of your resources will be put into managers to make your businesses idle, so you have to hope that by the battle time the units you upgraded that level will do the job. It’s a fairly run of the mill idle game but a fresh take with fun recognizable characters, but you run out of resources very fast, like around level 6. Most games of this sort will give you at least one free daily chest or even multiple a day, while this game makes you watch an ad for it every time. I’d consider removing the ads but the price to remove ads is $20, and they push offers on you quite a lot, and make a delay between the offer popping up and the button to close the offer popping up, so it’s almost like a forced ad. This is a very simple game at the end of the day and far from the only game of this type so I don’t understand the steep prices. Pure gameplay and graphics wise this game is a solid 8/10 but the other issues sort of sour the good things for me personally.

I enjoy these types of idle games. I call them zig-zag games because of the layout of the buildings and the way the cart moves to pick stuff up. I like the graphics in this one. There’s not really a story, but I don’t expect a story for this type of game. Some of the translations are a bit off, especially pronouns (calling female characters “he”, etc.). But overall I do like it. Only 4 stars because this game has the same issue as all the others I’ve played: to automate buildings, which is the whole point of an idle game, you have to hire managers, and the level requirements to hire them far outpace the amount of currency received to upgrade them. Even if you complete every quest each level, and watch every video for extra currency, you’ll never have enough to automate everything after a while. In events there’s a similar problem. You’ll have way too much of the currency, but never enough of the cards. Other games will allow you to buy cards with the currency, but not this game. The game asks quite often for you to buy packs, and gets especially annoying when an offer expires. The cost to go ad-free is WAY too high. For this type of game it should be $5, or maybe $10, but $20 is just crazy.
