Between the app, the step-by-step instructions, and blinking feedback from the speaker top, the update went fine. I got access to boost the vocal range settings from the phone app, which I wanted, and helps with dialogue.
The only problem is the separate Connect app keeps reporting a connection error… when everything seems to work fine. So a point off for that.

And it works brilliantly for what it’s intended for. Use this app to update your Klipsch “The Fives” one time, and then delete the app. It’s done. All further updates will be wireless and use a different app, and not need to be wired.
Whether the other app works or not, this one works great!

Haven’t used a thumb drive in a while, but everything went smoothly. Easy to get the files needed, speakers responded to the update easily, and the app was easy to use and communicated each step clearly.
About Klipsch The Fives Updater
The Fives Powered Monitors are capable of full app control, including a Virtual Remote and EQ. To get these capabilities, you need to update your Fives. This app walks you through the process and installs necessary updates to enable the Virtual Remote and EQ capabilities you've been waiting for.
After you have successfully updated your Fives, you can safely uninstall this app. All future updates will come through the Klipsch Connect app.
IMPORTANT: The update is a two-step process. Both the USB (Step 1) and Bluetooth (Step 2) steps must be completed!
What You Will Need:
* Internet access
* A USB thumb drive, at least 1 gigabyte in size, and preferably USB 2.0
* Access to a computer or device to copy update files to the thumb drive
* About 20 minutes
After the update, Klipsch Connect will show the new features. Make sure you are running at least version 1.9.0 of Klipsch Connect. You may need to forget and re-pair your Fives for the new features to display.
