OKMusician: Guitar & Ukulele

I finally was able to teach myself how to play acoustic guitar after years of trying different apps! The beginner course was everything. My only complaint is in the songs tab the app crashes & closes out nearly every time I change the drum pattern. Super annoying, but worth the irritation bc learning songs thru this app is so fun! The words are 95% accurate & the background sounds load for most songs. I bought the year subscription after using this for a couple months. I use it for an hour or 2 every day.

This app is filled with errors and typos, from the first screen (“chords”? Really?) to the instructions on how to pass a lesson (“you need “B” stars to continue”) (how many is B stars? It should say 4 but it says B on every lesson… what a junky app.) Also, on what planet would anyone ever teach a brand-new ukulele player the G chord as the 4th chord you’ll learn AND then expect them to be able to switch to it from C or Am or F in perfect 4/4 time? It goes crazy fast and is frustrating as heck. Also another typo I found as I was writing this: instead of “1st” it says “1th.” Is that pronounced “firsth” or “oneth”, OKMusician? :D What a terrible app. Certainly NOT upgrading or renewing. In fact, I’m deleting it. There are many other apps for ukulele out there and this one just has WAY too many issues and problems. Terrible proofreading. Oh, and the dude doing the lessons? He’s a chach, and his “humor” comes off as being a D bag.

This is not my first time attempting to teach myself ukulele. I have an ukulele for two years and every time when I tried to learn ukulele from the scratch, I got stuck on evaluating my performance. That’s why when I saw “1 one 1 coaching sessions” in the ads and it just hit me like “Oh my God, this is exactly what I need!” The first thing I do after getting the OKukulele app is to ask a coach for instructions and suggestion, and I got very useful and inspiring tips for improving my ukulele skills. I think I am starting to learn because of the app :)
