RedX Walls - Design & Build

I have used this a couple of times now and have introduced it to my son-in-law. He is wanting to build in his back porch and was wanting help determining the framing. In about 15 minutes we had the plan. The Cut sheet is extremely helpful. The developer has added several upgrades since I first used it in June 2022. I was trying to add a window below an existing window and could not keep it from adding cripples over the above window. That is the only difficulty this time. But with the two designs I am able to work around that. Great app. When I get ready to build I will download the Bundle. I think it will be well worth the $90.

I was starting to build walls and when I attempted to save them it would close the app out. I could not log back into my account. I reached out to Josh via text and email. He got back to me within a couple hours. We did some troubleshooting and could not get the problem fixed. He set me up with a new account and I am back up and running again. Customer service is great!! I would give it more stars if I could.

Clearly it does a lot of cool stuff. It would be nice to add the on-center for door and window openings independently, without always having to calculate it from the starting point. In other words if I have a wall that’s, say, 20 feet long, and I want two windows and a door, I’d like to be able to say each window is 48 “ on center from its associated end of wall and the door is center to the overall wall. Also, and this is me picking nits because I’m a software developer, the UI not being able to use the keyboard when keying in values is ludicrous. In that regard, and with always having to backspace-delete existing values, the UI gets a 1 start from me. I’d be happy to work with the team to improve the app. It’s so close to really being great.
