Manta - Manhwa, Comics, Novels

Manta Comics is beyond worth it. In 10+ years, I think I’ve reviewed 1-2 apps maximum…because who leaves reviews for apps. Lol. Manta is the exception for me. Highly, highly recommend. I’ve not even had my subscription two full months, yet I’ve read more series on here than I ever thought my brain could handle or juggle at one time. When you realize how much you get with this app at an extremely reasonable price, it’s an easy decision to subscribe. Well done, Manta Comics team. *Pro tip: Have a series that you’re reading for every day of the week. That way, there’s a new episode to look forward to every single day. Also, The Golden Forest is wildly underrated. It’s my absolute favorite series hands-down. The storyline has so many layers, and the episodes are very satisfying because you get enough content (that made it worth waiting a week for and not just something short to seemingly fill a weekly quota), yet there will still be the obligatory cliff hanger. Haha. There are truly so many good series on Manta (and they’re ALL binge worthy, so, buckle up), but The Golden Forest takes the cake for me. The complexity of the storyline plus the graphics/artwork are truly well done.

I’ve been reading the content on this app with the subscription for maybe about 2-3 years now and I’ve seen this app improve in many ways. Both in its usability and content, it’s been about half(?) a year now since they first launched their new monetization in the form of gems. There are some titles and I believe all the novels are not included with subscription. At first, this didn’t bother me too much as they’re were only a few titles that were not included and I didn’t have much interest in the novels. But now it feels like 1/3rd of new titles coming out are not included and have to be purchased separately. I understand that the main reason for this is to bring in more content and that some of these titles aren’t from Manta but borrowed from other licenses. I appreciate Manta’s efforts but honestly, I rather go back to old Manta with less content but access to all of it. Yes, it felt bad that some titles left for a reason or things got canceled and left but hey at least I was able to read it. If you are going to pay for a subscription you should have access to all your content I know that’s possible. As a start, I think at the very least most if not all of the novels should be included in the subscription. In short yes the app is fine and has a decent library and I don’t believe that Manta is terrible as it seems that they have been rather transparent about their changes. But I would rather go back to old Manta.

OLD:The schedule make me crazy and waiting is never disappointing. Easy to use. Great stories and amazing art. UPDATED: I still enjoy this application, do not misunderstand me. I find it upsetting that I have to pay for both a subscription and now for gems in order to continue reading? Could you please explain how that makes sense? What is the purpose of the gems if I have paid for a year's subscription? Having been a member for some time, I am disappointed with this update. If you are referring to the buy and keep option, please do not inform me. It is a great idea, but if I wanted to purchase it, I would and there are some I would purchase... but when you subscribe to unlimited content, I should not have to worry about gems (the subscription is referred to as unlimited). Considering my current situation, I might as well return to Webtoons and the other apps. As a result, you are now on the same level as the others, if not worse. I have yet to purchase gems and don’t think I will. My unlimited subscription expires in May 2025 and I may cancel it. It was a pleasure having these wonderful stories and I may never get to finish the ones I have been reading and that saddens me but a point must be made. You can not give and take from your customers ex: “here is an unlimited subscription but in order to keep enjoying your stories you’ll need to purchase GEMS”… nah not going to work for me. Sorry Manta 5 to 3…. Bad look.
