App version 0.7.3 was broken, but 0.7.4 works again. It still needs a lot of work now that it supports chat, though. Basic things are broken, such as getting trapped in the Settings menu and having to force close and relaunch the app. It only supports a history of 100 chat messages total per account, with no ability to pay for more nor pin the content yourself. The rough interface could also use a dark mode option... plus you have to provide encryption keys to it from a QR code that you generate on a desktop app, which feels very unsafe. If the app wasn't open source and working to solve important gaps in Ethereum mainstream usability, I would have deleted it. It feels like a technical demonstration, but I admire them for trying to help improve Ethereum.
When I first heard about EPNS, I was really excited to check it out. When I went to download it and saw that the first review on this app here in the App Store was unwarranted / clearly unrealistic FUD is really sad. You’re bashing an innovative app and saying that it “downloaded itself + connected to your wallet”? Either you’re just planting FUD on competition, or you don’t know how crypto wallets actually work. There is no way that this app connected to your wallet without actually signing for it in your wallet. I love EPNS, I’m setting up my notifications now, and as a builder in this space, I would love to talk to the team about some ideas I have for future integrations! I’m @transmental on Twitter, please reach out if you see this.
I have no idea what this app is but it’s concerning it was added without my authorization and connected to my wallet
