I was not able to check cars available and price without viewing price of rental 1st before signing up , I believe most would prefer to know about rental rates before signing up. Thank you
So first time using Shariot and it alr left a sour taste in my mouth. It was fine at the start and i was using it normally. I top up in advance around $15 worth of fuel and the fuel gauge did not move at all. Then I was driving back and it was abt to end my trip. But my fuel gauge did not move at all. So I panic and went to the petrol kiosk to pump again $15. Now this is the problem. IT DID NOT MOVE AT ALL. So I pump again $15. I am alr late at this point in time and since Iโm late I might as well not get caught with the fuel penalty. Now I tried to extend 1 min past my timing and the app didnโt let me. Plus there was no one else using the car so there was no excuse of I cannot extend my trip. Now I started the car and the fuel gauge was still 2 bars. Drove back again to top up another $15. Then my fuel gauge jump up to 3/4. BRUH! Since my first receipt was thrown away I cannot prove I pump the first $15 but the other 2 I kept to complain abt it. And then I get slap with a $24 late fee. Understandable for late fee ya. But I was not expecting this much. Still ok late fee can accept can pay. FUEL GAUGE! No this is unacceptable. I pump $ 45 worth of fuel in this car and it didnโt move until the last one. I guess the next person will benefit but I will not be using Shariot after this. Not my first time with car sharing company, late fee and top up fuel with ur own money. If u say oh well u pump alr and like the fuel is there why not start on and off. Did that 3 times. Did not move at all. Why didnโt u leave it be then when u put in $30 worth of fuel at first? Well I did not want to be charge and its my first time with a van. Gullible me thought it needed more fuel than a normal car.
I recently decided to give Shariot a second chance, but my experience was still very stressful. Previously, I had trouble locating the car, and this time I wasted even more time because the steering wheel was locked and the car wouldnโt start. On top of that, I had to spend extra time finding a petrol kiosk before returning the vehicle, which was frustrating. The van I rented had no front or rear cameras, so I was constantly driving with the fear that any accident would not be recorded for my protection. The vehicles also tend to be older, less well-maintained, and the air inside was stale and unpleasant, making driving uncomfortable. Additionally, pickup locations are inconveniently far from my place. Regarding points, I still had over 900 points converted from my past cash reserve, but they didnโt provide any meaningful value. In my second rental, I returned the car slightly below a quarter tank because the petrol indicator didnโt register my refill properly. I also chose to forgo my 900+ points and requested a refund and account deactivation. To my surprise, I was fined $40 from my $100 deposit, which I felt was unfair, especially since the extra petrol I previously pumped was not considered. I can only imagine that continuing to use Shariotโs fleet could be riskyโif an accident occurred, the potential loss would be even worse. Iโm sharing my experience to help fellow car rental users weigh their options. For me, I will continue to stick with GetGo, which I find far smoother, more reliable, and less stressful.
