Cradlewise

This app is pretty good overall. I especially appreciate the ability to picture-in-picture the video stream so I can watch my baby while doing other things on my phone. It’s also very responsive. From the time I get a notification, I can tap it and see the live view within seconds. The big flaw though that is annoying me is the way the app uses the system audio. It basically hijacks and prioritizes the audio when the live view is open and distorts all other OS sounds unless the app is killed or goes to a sleep state itself. My sleep cycle app can’t play audio correctly at night until I kill the Cradlewise app, and this app constantly pulls my AirPods auto switching away from other devices I use, even when the audio monitoring is turned off. I want to be able to watch my baby on my phone while I use audio on my MacBook or iPad without it messing up the pairing. As it stands now, the app will just tell the system to switch to it over everything else, even if I’m currently listening to a video or music on another device. Makes it very annoying because I don’t have to always listen to my baby but having a video feed would be nice if this issue didn’t happen.

***Update*** All is good so far. Ended up getting on a call with tech team. To CW- thank you for the assistance. Apparently the “pairing issue” was something that needed to be resolved by a Live Technician only. Firmware needed an update.. which should come with the instruction manual as a slip, prefacing, “To best assist your growing family into a seamless experience, please select an appointment slot on our website for a Live Technician to complete wireless pairing setup.” ******* HOLY. Smokes. I am literally in awe of how much this has made me cry trying to pair the crib to the WiFi- app- whatever. My honey works is in a senior position in Tech industry, and when I tell you he thinks this company is run by a bunch of cheap-outsourced labor… he’s not wrong. I, however, am a teacher, and have the utmost patience in the world… until today with this product. We re-read the directions, rebooted, troubleshooted, spoke with “Tech Support”— the automated 24/7 one, and spent so many hours attempting to get our CW “paired”. It is such a let down. An EXTREME let down. Our baby is coming in early, in a few days to be exact, and I feel completely blindsided by this company’s promise. I requested an immediate refund and initiated return asap. To the CW company- Hire a proper tech team to get your product in working order please before you ruin another pregnant person’s milestone into motherhood.

I really like Cradlewise when it’s working, but there are just a couple frustrating things that come along with it. I like that I can log into my app and see that he’s in no danger or choking. But the things that are really frustrating with the crib is that every single time I have to connect to a new Wi-Fi the app glitches out and can’t connect. I have to contact IT every single time. It’s also frustrating that you can’t purchase a secondary monitor to walk around with. It’s only on your phone which drains my battery crazy quick when I want him on to just glance over. I also feel that there should be some kind of recording for at least 24 hours that we can save to our phone if we want to. there’s so many cute things that I have missed because it takes so long for me to use my phone to screen record and then that moment is missed. That would create so many memories. It also would be very helpful to have a way where you can speak to your baby through the crib just like it sound. Overall, I do really love the crib and it gives me so much peace of mind to constantly be able to watch him if I want to just those little details would make it extraordinary.
