It’s the only golf app with a decent HUD for an iPhone 12. The swing had a natural feel to me. Easy club selection. Ball physics is pretty good. The soft colors need more contrast as everything tends to blend together. There is no sound. The lie graphics are too faint to get a good read on. The sand trap physics are pretty poor. It was impossible to get the ball over the edge of the bunker no matter what I used. The ball just would ‘pool table’ careen around the sand trap’s walls. It was kind of comical. It was irritating but it was the my first trap in 27 holes, so not that big of a deal for me but that does need improving. Overall, I do find it relaxing. Not all the ‘pomp and circumstance’ and CPU wasting eye candy almost all the other golf apps and in landscape orientation! Personally, I’d like to see the grass and sand darker to contrast more with the white of the ball.
I made a hole in one on the very first hole of the game and went straight to an Ad. Then I played a whole two holes and can you guess what happened? That’s right another Ad. The graphics are not even good enough to want to force yourself to watch an Ad after every hole if not every other hole. It takes you literally 5 seconds to play one hole and then you watch an Ad that last 10-15 seconds once you hit X here and X there just to get out of it and don’t you dare just miss pushing the X on the exact spot because if you do then it will take you to the App Store where you can download the game from the Ad you just watched and I can only imagine that one has Ads every 10 seconds too. Don’t waste your time getting this game unless you want to watch Ads 80% of the time and 20% playing the actual game.
The game is very nice and it has good quality. One thing I would consider adding is bonus levels. The bonus levels can be an extra way to get coins and skins while also promoting more fun. The bonus levels can have a pinball theme where the ball can ricochet off the obstacles while trying to reach a golf hole. If they did consider this idea they would also need to create more skins.
