Catholic Bible.

I continue to learn more about God through the Catholic Bible. I’m enJOYing it immensely. Living in capital letters JOY! Jesus JOY is my strength, Nehemiah 8:10

I am trying to get more into the Bible so I like that I can take a look anywhere. There are notes and highlighting function as well. It also easily tells you the chapters and displays them well. I like having an app instead of just reading online. When I fist downloaded the app I saw many comments about the notes just showing a black screen and hiding what people were writing. To combat that, type in just a letter, click save and then go back into it and you can now see what you are writing or just write in on your notepad and copy/paste

I am a Catholic nun and would willingly have given this 5 stars except…. I have many versions on my mini iPad and I read them in or out of Chapel. I’ve not needed a “Catholic” version because many apps include them but I downloaded this one. Several have quiet advertising banners at the foot of the page. This morning at Exposition and prayer in Chapel, with several others present, I was reading Isaiah when suddenly there was loud screaming shrieking and noise coming from an ad for a game (these are usually the loudest and rarely on serious apps) in which the heroine needed to be saved. I quickly slammed the mini pad closed but it didn’t stop right away and I had to run out of the Chapel to turn it off. I immediately erased it from my mini pad and only temporarily reinstalled to write this review. My suggestion is that you either use another app or pay to get rid of the advertisements. Even in private reading, the Bible is a type of prayer. To be so violently invaded by such loud noise seriously disturbs the atmosphere of prayer, NOT easily recovered if it’s an ad like the one on mine! Sorry I couldn’t give a positive review.
