The Daily Office

I am not Anglican, but have used this app, and the actual prayer book, for the past couple of years for daily reading. The developer has been great in responding to several email questions I have had and sincerely wants to make an app that is helpful for its users. I recall asking about some additional settings that have been incorporated in the new version. I remember asking about adding some additional translations which the new version has done! I remember asking about adding the occasional prayers in the prayer book for easy access on the go, and not only has that been done, but you can actually add them to appear in the text of the daily office for any of the prayer times. When I first started to use the new version there were some glitches (what app doesn’t have some) for example when choosing a translation that doesn’t have a version of the apocrypha it was blank for those readings. I emailed the developer who responded with an apology, fixed the problem, and emailed me back asking for further feedback on the problem to ensure it was fixed all same day. I love the app so much that I offered to support further development financially and was assured that things are covered, and that wasn’t necessary at this time. There aren’t too many apps in the App Store where a developer uses their own time to create something simply for the benefit of others without any expectation of a reward. Sounds a lot to me like gospel ministry in a somewhat unique, and powerful way to me personally, and I’m incredibly grateful for the work that’s been put into this app.

I have been using this prayer resource online for months and am very happy to see an app that can also be used offline. This is a great way to pray through the daily office using the updated 2019 Book of Common Prayer. There are many customization options, so you can engage the prayer time in the way that works best for you. I have also used this to lead worship times with my house church when we have to meet via Zoom (due to the coronavirus). It’s a great resource for that as well. I highly recommend this app!

This prayer application is based on the Book of Common Prayer 2019. It provides the user with four, daily, guided prayer times within the rich and beautiful Anglican prayer tradition. The app also provides family prayers, a shorter daily version, perfect for busy families “on the go,” but not too busy for The Lord. The app also provides the ability to sync preference settings across multiple devices, so that folks who want to pray in a group can all see and share in the same text. This is very powerful. If you are not aware of the Anglican prayer tradition, give this daily prayer app a week and it will transform your prayer life forever. <><
