Supercluster

Reading spacecraft and mission specs and astronaut bios, you can easily get pulled down a rabbit hole. Very interesting. Looking forward to watching a live launch. The app does crash regularly. It crashed 3 times in the first 30 minutes that I used it. Space tourists who spent $$$$$ for a 10 minute ride on a Blue Origin flight should not be on the same list as the pilots, engineers, physicists, teachers and biologists who are truly astronauts. Make a separate list for the non-contributing people.

This was the first application I used for tracking launches. It’s 99%+ at that job. I’ve only found a few missed reports over time. I have an repeating issue where the application crashes randomly when I read an article or look at details of a launch. It may crash within a few seconds to several minutes. But, it always crashes. When I select the support option on the store it goes to a page with a long list of people working the site. NO quick way to submit a report marked it down a star for this issue. As for the article’s they are ok and sometimes good. I find they have a bit of bias at times. Especially, with SpaceX. They tend to read motives into actions and sometimes they feel political. This is a bit picky but I don’t need editorial overview on things like History or what is supposed to be a payload manifest.

I initially wrote a review for this app when it first launched (no pun intended). At the time I gave it a 4/5 stars. I thought it was a great app that could have been better with some suggestions. However, these suggestions were never implemented into the app. The suggestions were: - A dark mode, especially for night launches. - An Apple Watch application to check launches on the go from my wrist. - Home Screen (and now Lock Screen with IOS 16) widgets to see what or when is the next launch without having to open the app every time. My biggest problem with the application, however, is that the in-app ISS locater is wrong. The map displays the ISS’ location ahead of time than where it actually is. Other than that, I think Supercluster is a neat app. I love being able to checkout the new articles and see who is in space in the Astronauts tab. I love the suggested viewing spots for upcoming launches, and seeing what spacecrafts are parked at the ISS. I just really think Supercluster could be improved more and I’m certain that it will in time.
