I’ve only been using this app for maybe a week or two, but I already feel like I’m gaining knowledge and experience. Just being able to think about my language more and USE it in just casual, average conversations is really helping me cement the grammar, words, and writing in my head. So far, all the people seem really nice and eager to learn and share their culture with others, which definitely makes this a fun way to study and grow. I would recommend this to people who are serious about learning another language and who are not able to immerse themselves in that language. It helps a lot. ;)

The app works well for its intended purpose of connecting people, but in some ways it works too well. I wish there were a feature to block users from messaging you if they don’t speak your target language. Or even to restrict chat by gender since many language have wildly different masculine and feminine ways of speaking. There are lots of messages from men that pop up through the day and for the most part they’re respectful, I just wish I didn’t have to wade through them all the time as opposed to having ways to prevent that.
Edit: now that I’ve been on longer I’ve seen some troubling trends with users of the app. I’ve seen hateful, sexist, and racist comments throughout the platform. Men have sent unsolicited pictures of themselves as well as saying highly inappropriate comments. I don’t think the developers have done enough to curb these things, and I’m not sure how they process reported messages. There’s also some issues with the translation service. For example 黒人 (Japanese for black person) gets translated as negro, and 你好 (hello in Chinese) is translated as hell. Overall I’m not impressed by the community and app itself so I’ll probably try other apps.

(1) It set my "language of interest" as the language I speak when I selected the Japanese option. I then went to change it and realised I cannot. It gave me two other options (that is, language of interest). I selected Japanese and Russian for those, but it does not save. It saves just about everything else.
(2) There should be more topics. For example, television, music. It should not all be categorised as "culture". And these categories are very broad and encompass languages and locations that I have zero interest in. My feed should be based around that interest, not things which are included. I should not see what everyone posts, and I should also not see what everyone posts simply because they desire to learn or speak English.
(3) There are typos in parts of your app. When you go to make a "moment", it says "momemt" in English.
(4) I would like to be able to edit my post to add topics or edit my grammar after posting.
(5) Biographies should be able to be translated just like posts. It makes no sense to me that it can't considering that it is the introduction to the person they may communicate with/learn from/the one who makes the post.
