Garden Planner by Fryd

Was excited to try this out for some garden planning but the app is completely non-functional. Gets stuck loading and can’t deliver on any of the features.

This looks like it would be a great app, if I could figure out how to use it. The app is mostly in English, but the site is in German. There didn't seem to be a translate button or anything that my sketchy German could translate as "help." I can't find my way back to the tutorial, but even that was minimal. I can't figure out how to edit the plan, except to add plants. Even that is not easy; if I change my mind, then what? I feel like I'm being pushed to view and adopt other people's planting plans; what if I don't want to? The social media aspect of this is the only part I can figure out and that doesn't interest me. Charles Dowding likes it, though I notice he doesn't share his garden plan, so I'm holding onto it for now, in hopes that future versions will be friendlier to anglophones. I would actually spend money here, if I could figure out how to use the app and what is being sold on the site. It looks good, but with little English and no tutorial, it's nearly impenetrable.

I discovered Fryd through Charles Dowding. This is by far the gardening app I have always been looking for for years. It has everything you need for a successful season and is very well built. The plan is easy to setup, although if you are like me and love to use the exact information about each variety you will be growing, it might take you a bit more time, but in the end it will all be worth it. I love that the season plan is divided in 3: pre, main and post crops. It makes succession planting a dream which is simply non-existant from other apps. Since using this app, I’ve felt less overwhelmed because everything has already been thought about. What a dream! I did experience an issue with varieties I had inserted in my plan suddenly disappearing. When I reached out to Fryd’s support team, they were very friendly and took the matter seriously. Within a few weeks, the issue had been resolved and now everything is back to where it was. I can’t recommend this app enough. Give it a try, you’ll love it!
