WOW finally found an app that I will keep and actually use. One of my gfs was stupid drunk enough to throw my remote and break it. Too lazy to get a new one, I decided to look into apps as alternative. All of them fell short. They either had too many ads, didn’t work, slow, or just had terrible UI. This app is clean, functional, and does exactly what it needs to. You can quickly scan your tv and connect right away. It works like a charm. And I love how simple it is. No need for any instructions to use. It’s so intuitive! No need for another remote ever again! And I can’t believe this is free! Please develop more features and keep up the ad less UI. Highly recommend it and wish I had found this sooner

I just wish that my tv was already on wifi before the remote batteries died.
I am connected via ethernet, and have never used the bravia on a wifi. Therefore the app cannot find the tv.
There doesn’t seem to be a wizard built into the app setup for this situation.
I’m assuming I’ll have to get batteries and set up the tv on wifi, then I can use the remote.
HOWEVER... question- do I have to keep the tv unplugged from ethernet to use this remote app? Some smart devices disable their wifi connection while plugged into ethernet. I prefer using ethernet cables on all my large devices to maintain premium wifi speeds on my portable wireless devices.
Is there an app with a bluetooth solution/ alternative?
UPDATE:
I simply plugged the ethernet in through my wifi router. It worked!
(I previously had ethernet in modem separated from the wifi router... the wifi router also has ethernet plugs.)

Beware, this app is incorrectly listed in the App Store as free and there is no mention of in app purchases. With that being said, this worked perfectly and fast for about a week. Now when I open the app I have a full screen ad (which the description explicitly states there are none) and asks you to buy it for $9.99 or rent it for $2.99 a week (who would do that???)
So I wanted to write this so it’s publicly disclosed. It works great, but if you need it to work beyond a trial period, it will be $9.99 plus tax. This is not disclosed anywhere in the app description and although many app developers get around this by writing “in app purchases”, this is not written on here.
