Wlingua - Learn Russian

I’m on lesson 17 now. This isn’t my only method of study, but it’s a good way to learn the basics. If you’re wondering about a comparison with Duolingo, Wlingua is so much better、 but I won’t make it the focus of this review. Another aspect I enjoy is the straightforward lessons. Wlingua has no ads, the style of it is serious (not a game), and it’s toned down and casual. I love it. In this app, the lessons actually explain functions of words, masculine, feminine, neutral genders (and mark them in the dictionary), and provide great notes on grammar and the case system. They also have an index where you can look at each word and see the case declension. In lesson 14-15, they teach you about the plural of nouns and adjectives with detailed lessons, and it’s really helpful. I do have one suggestion. I wish there were a way to study and review verbs, not just nouns. For example, have some questions where you are given the infinitive of the verb and have to translate it to English, and vice versa. But still a great app.

I've been learning Russian for about two years and out of every app I tried, I think this is absolutely the best one. It gives you access to so many materials and doesn't just slap a paywall in front of your face. It feels like it actually wants to help you learn a language instead of milking you for money. If you really want to use an app to learn Russian, I 100% recommend this one. It'll actually get you somewhere.

I can’t believe how well built and amazing this app is. Truly a gem. It is by far my favorite and go-to app to learn and practice Russian. I love how the lessons are built, there is so much content and it’s not overwhelming at all. Everything is interactive, every single word is clickable and can see a thorough explanation of terms, declination, meanings and more. A huge pro is that it is free and already comes with so many lessons, but I am considering upgrading to premium as soon as I have the chance/budget. If I could, I would give it more than 5 stars. Kudos to the creators! Well done!
