This is honestly great, even just discarding the fact that it's genuinely helping me get better at the sky music interface, it's also super relaxing. However, with the keyboard, there are only two options and both are pretty difficult for me to read, so I tried to use the 'custom' option, but it just goes to the letter one. I don't know what I'm missing or doing wrong but an explanation would be really nice right about now 😅
This app was good for a while, but recently I’ve had this problem where I finish a music sheet, upload it to the interface, and after the “reviewing procees”, the published version’s notes were completely different from what I wrote. Not a different key, but literally different buttons & different (discordant) chords. I went back and checked the sheet, and it was the same as I uploaded it; it was only the published, public version that screwed up my composition. There’s no way to change or delete a composition after you’ve uploaded it, at least not one that actually works. These aren’t difficult arrangements either; they’re actually the easiest ones I’ve ever published on this app. There have been small problems in the past with some of my larger compositions, but nothing so major that the song is completely unrecognizable. I don’t know who “reviews” compositions before they’re uploaded, but there either needs to be better quality control or there needs to be no reviewing process at all; just let people upload things straight to the interface. Or at least let people delete things after you screw them up.
The app itself is very good. It's laid out well, the idea behind it is very smart and effective, and it's got people already making compositions! The instruments provided are a smidge bit odd with different lasting note durations, but each one sounds exactly like that from the game and makes practicing a lot easier. The way of having the notes upfront to practice is amazingly smooth and works well with the corresponding keyboard! I'd rate this higher if not for the fact that I had "initialisation errors" about 10 minutes into downloading and using it. The buttons aren't exactly explained upfront, and the added initialisation errors don't help much. The music sheet site has a limited way of searching for songs unless you know EXACTLY what it's called, which is difficult given the app's Asian origin- many of the titles are in other languages (I'm a greedy selfish American I know I'm sorry). And the way you apply for having to be a composer, while wonderfully executed, seems to be a tad overdone with how notating works. Perhaps instead of having to notate the notes via guitar fingering layout, you can submit a test composition from within the app interface to be considered a composer for the app? Either way, this app is delightful and wonderful, even in its early stages! I can't wait to see what's to come from such a small developer with a great idea!
