Bingo Caller

Wonderful bingo caller for personal use at home or anywhere you want to play bingo where you already have the bingo cards and dabbers and you need a number caller. The only drawback is if you have a bingo card pattern where a letter group of numbers don’t need to be called you have to manually touch all the numbers in that letter group so they get called before you start the game and since they have already been manually called the app won’t call out that letter group of numbers. It really isn’t that big of a deal and takes less than a couple of seconds to do. All in all it works flawless and we have enjoyed many hours of fun with the family and friends using the app. To the developers a big thank you!

Gosh I really loved the simplicity of this app and I’ve used it for a while for my bingo nights but they recently did an update and now there’s only three different theme colors. It was really nice before when I could match the color of the screen to the proper bingo card we are playing so hopefully they will add more colors again soon. Otherwise this app has been great and very useful.

There are other bingo-calling apps out there. You can pay, get banner ads, sent to Safari for ads, etc. None of them compare to this simple yet beautifully efficient app! We used this for a school bingo night to help young children and those for whom English is a second language to make sure they got the right numbers. We projected the app onto a big screen and everyone was a big fan of having that visual cue! We actually used a physical bingo cage to choose the numbers so it was nice the way the app allowed us to just record the numbers too. Two suggestions which would really make the app perfect: 1. Allow the ability to turn off all sounds. The voice reading of the numbers is great EXCEPT when the iPad or iPhone is also driving a speaker (wired or Bluetooth) and you don’t want to interrupt the music. As we were calling out the numbers over a mic we didn’t need the app to read them out anyway. 2. The ability to hide the control buttons in the top row when you are using an external screen is brilliant, but it is also flaky. We couldn’t get it to work consistently: sometimes it hides, other times it shows, and it seems to be very laggy if it even responds. As this is probably an Apple limitation I don’t hold this against the app, but it is a promise somewhat unfulfilled. Anyway, a brilliantly simple yet fully-featured app for calling and/or displaying bingo games. Thanks!
