Daily Spurgeon Devotionals

I read some of spurgeons words recently and really liked it and I then found this app and decided to give it a try. I really enjoy it! I love the layout and the different devotionals that you do each day. I’m not a big devotional person because I personally feel like they tend to not be super biblical. The ones i’ve read anyways. This one is not like that at all!! Super biblical, convicting, and Jesus has helped me grow through this alot in the little time i’ve had the app. I really have no complaints about the app at all. I love Spurgeons work and this has countless messages from him which are easily understandable and it’s not cupcake christianity either which I love. If you want to be convicted and challenged to grow deeper in your faith then I recommend this 100%!!

. . .maybe two that are missing. First of all, this is the best Morning and Evening devotional app that I’ve found! I’ve been searching for quite a while and have been through quite a few, this is by far the one that is on point and fresh with technology. It stays true to Spurgeon, while also updating the old English language. It has great features for reminding, and it has both the Morning and the Evening. After years of going through these apps, it looks like I’ll be sticking with this one. The few things that are lacking are nominal, but if added would make this a top notch app. 1) Better/more Bible translations. >The translations are limited to those that are not very popular, hard to read, or aren’t good translations in general. 2) Ability to open/link to full passages of the Bible >It only provides the small excerpt of scripture that is quoted, which is not always even an entire voice. It would be great to be able to click and open the full passage. 3) Navigation is a bit wonky >Once you select a devotion it will only show Morning or Evening based on the time of the day. If you click the next arrow, it only goes to the next days time of day devotional—not the next devotional. The only work around for this is to wait until the (I have yet to figure out when) time of day that switches over in the app, or make several incongruous navigations within the app to actually get to the Evening devotional. Sometimes, the Evening needs to be read earlier, am I right? Just make it easier to get there. Now, don’t let those suggestions get you past what I said at the top. I’ve been searching and using these Spurgeon apps for years. This one is BY FAR the BEST!!!

Right now there is only 1 thing I’d like to see changed. This is with the calendar feature. Basically, I’d have it so that I can go back in time to see the entire page as is. You see for example today’s whole page? From top to bottom. Not just the morning and evening devotion. If I go back in time, all I can recover is the morning and evening devotion. Can you update the app in order so that we can basically just swipe back in time to the complete page from top to bottom including the faith book devotion along with both the scripture of the day and the quote at the bottom. I hope that you understand what I’am requesting. If I miss a day or more, I want to see the exact same whole page I would’ve seen if I would’ve launched the app on that day. God bless you all.
