I took lessons in person with Jake (the developer) for about a year while he was working on the app and got to use some of these beats during our sessions and it made it super fun/easy. I did not realize this type of practice tool wasn’t being used by everyone because it just made so much sense. I love to practice at home to real music but find it difficult if the time signature is different or the tempo is too fast for me to effectively practice. This app changes the game because you can play to real music, at your own tempo, and learn how real music is put together. My favorite part of taking lessons with Jake was when he would pick up the bass or his electric uke and jam while I was drumming. Oscillator gives you the same feel and puts other musicians in the room with you to jam with. Highly recommend!

The Oscillator app is well designed, practical, and makes drum practice a lot more engaging. Playing along with the loops is helping me to understand how the drums relate to other instruments, and —as a beginner — I get to pretend I’m in a band just grooving along! Yeah! Super cool that I can change the instruments in the mix, adjust the tempo and refer to the written music. I highly recommend!

Especially for beginners, this is one of best drum apps for skill improvement. Support is excellent as well.
