SuperChinese - Learn Chinese

Forget about Duolingo, Hellochinese, Lingodeer, Chineseskill, or other Chinese language-aimed learning apps; SuperChinese knocks the rest out of the park. If you want to learn Chinese but don’t have the resources to do so, I can only recommend this app. Lessons consist of four (five if you pay extra) parts: vocabulary, grammar, text, and a mini test, along with an AI intensive lesson if you pay for Chao. This is one of the best tools for my studying. It’s like a workbook inside one app. There’s dozens of helpful features like a textbook detailing sentences, vocab, and grammar learned in each lesson in case you forget; specific pinyin lessons with a pinyin chart; different sections that cover the different HSK levels; specific hanzi lessons that teach you stroke order and how to write the characters; specific lessons that can help you with day-to-day conversations; and even talk rooms where you can chat with other users. If you need extra help learning or don’t understand something, you can ask the AI teacher for explanations. It’s also helpful for review and practice. This is a really solid 10/10 app for me, I highly recommend you at least try it out to see if you like it. If you do, you won’t regret purchasing Plus. I can tell this app was made with care by the developers, it’s definitely not shoddy. It’s definitely a good app to invest in. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Five stars

My favorite thing about SuperChinese is that it’s helping me learn to think in Chinese with immersive exercises where there’s a brief audio conversation and then a question (in Chinese) about what was said. You don’t just have to transcribe what you heard; you have to think critically and often pick an answer that uses different words to explain the concept. None of the questions are tricky logically, for example they rely only on basic math like adding 4+1, but you have to actually understand the context to answer correctly. Other apps I’ve used focus more on transcription and translation, and SuperChinese goes a big step beyond that. Tiene la opción de configurar la app en varios idiomas, y he seleccionado español. Overall I’m very satisfied with the app. I did the free trial of a couple of Chinese learning apps before I decided that this was the one that was worth the money to get the paid version, and after a few months of using it, I am still happy with my decision. Note that they run a lot of promotions, especially on holidays, so you can get a better deal if you watch for that.

This is the first time that I have written a review for an app. I’ve been searching for an app that also records the learners voice and compares the recording to a native speaker: Rosetta Stone has this capability by comparing a learner’s voice wave against a native speaker for correctness. Doulingo also does records but similar to Rosetta Stone just indicates if your recording just matches. This apps take it a step further by showing the learner which (汉字.. hànzì) he/she had mispronounced the 汉字 a common mistake learners of Chinese make by not applying the correct tone used by the 汉字. The App developers take this a step further by helping the learner visually see which 汉字 were pronounced with the correct tone (in green) and which 汉字 were not pronounced correctly (in red). Language learning for some is not a straight forward process, for some learners like myself learning a language requires multiple sensory inputs; this process works for me as a native English speaker, and through this process I can speak and write proficiently in Spanish. I’ve acquired B1 in German through this process as well. And no one ever speaks about individuals who are dyslexic and their L2 acquisition... I personally can and it is with the help by App developers who get it, get that learning any L2 language for someone requires multi-sensory inputs and feedback. Thanks for creating this app! HSK-1 here I come!
