Japan Wi-Fi auto-connect

Kind of silly you have to set this up prior to connecting to a WiFi it supports. If you connect to one, it tells you to download the app before using the supported WiFi, but it won’t give you internet to actually download the app. Pretty ironic. Other than that, I was able to mostly wonder about Tokyo Station with little issues.

Sometimes the app works, but most free wifi in Japan requires an email login. What is particularly irritating is that the app often wants to update by re-downloading from the AppStore. This is a bad experience because I need the app to connect to WiFi. Cellular downloads take too long. So I have to go back to my hotel or find a public WiFi point with email registration in order to use this. I’ll probably end up deleting this app and just use email registration everywhere. It seems like more trouble than it is worth most of the time.

Highly recommend for travelers. Very convenient app.
