Progress Saves

I’m absolutely addicted to this game. It’s really fun and simple. The ads aren’t too distracting, and the color palette is very plain (which isn’t a bad thing). I’ve had it for almost a year now, and I’ve been trying to make it my mission to get every single trophy for each month from now on. I’m getting a new phone soon, and I wanted to save my progress on this app before realizing there was no option to. Overall, this game is really enjoyable and I never expected to have it for this long. The only thing I’d say I don’t like would be that there is no option to make an account to save progress. I really hope that in the near future this option is available. EDIT: I am not sure if this will be seen since it’s only an edit from an old review, but I’ve come across an issue! I’ve still continued with doing the daily puzzles, but for some reason my app has been crashing/freezing a lot more lately. At first I thought it was a problem with my phone, but it’s only this app that does it. It’s a bit frustrating since I would be in a middle of a puzzle before it completely freezes and crashes out of the game. My phone starts overheating too. Is there any solution to this?

Clever puzzles, skippable ads, some guessing spoils it

This is a very clever type of puzzle and, when you can use logic to solve them, is very satisfying. Unfortunately a large number of the puzzles cannot be solved using logic, and this requires initial guessing and then — when you are out of lives — brute force to solve them, which is NOT FUN. All of the 5x5 and 10x10 puzzles and about 1/4 or 1/3 of the 15x5 puzzles can be solved using pure logic. But the majority of 15x15 puzzles do not have enough information (I.e., enough lines of 8 or more linked squares) to solve without “best guess” or in some cases purely random guessing. A missed guess (without using up a hint) costs a life. Lose 3 lives, and you have to watch an ad (I assume, if you haven’t paid) to get one more. Some 15x15 puzzles will require you to do that up to 10 times to fill in enough information to start using logic. Even if you have paid to turn off ads, which I did and I highly recommend, it still gets annoying having to ask for another life constantly. It feels like brute force rather than solving a puzzle. That and the fact that you end up with a lot of very similar if not completely identical puzzles is my only complaint. I mentioned paying to turn off ads, and I do recommend it, even though if you are the type who never does that you can skip almost all the ads as soon as they start. That’s very generous and also necessary as, if you don’t turn the ads off, you will get one literally between every puzzle. Otherwise a good brain game and worth the 5 bucks to turn off ads and get unlimited lives.

Addicted

In the month I’ve had this game, I have played all of the available daily challenges (which go back to April 2019). I’ve fully completed the three events that have been active. These events provide consistent fresh puzzles. The two problems I have with the app are the occasional mistakenly pressed box, which occurs often of the right side of my screen. It will place a box where I did not click. This has only happened about 5 times in the entire time I’ve been playing, but i see other people have commented on it so I figure I’d mention it too. The other problem is the lack of difficulty in the “new game- hard difficulty” games. While they are 15x15, they often require minimal logic, which is different from the puzzles in the dailies and events. The only two suggestions I have are to perhaps add the ability to zoom in on one part of the board, perhaps a quadrant at a time, to ease the difficulty of accurately placing boxes. The other I have is to increase the reward for completing events. Currently, you get a picture trophy which does nothing. My solution to this, and another suggestion that I’d like to see implemented either way, is to unlock “themes” for the board. This would allow a change of sight from the normal black and white, and can add the option of something as simple as different colors or as complicated as fitting the theme of the event. Overall, this is a phenomenal app in an environment of decreasingly quality apps.
