We’ve had this camera for a year and a half now. It does its job of being a baby monitor well enough. The mounting is simple, the night vision is handy, and it pretty reliable at notifying me when it detects sound (and movement if I turn that setting on.) The app is pretty buggy. There are regular updates that make minor adjustments, but there was a period of time when I was having major issues connecting to Wi-Fi. That is fine now, but I have to refresh or restart the app every single time I want to open the camera and view what’s going on. Sometimes it struggles even with that and it will take upwards of 60 seconds before I can actually see what should be a lot faster on a smart phone. Sometimes I just give up and go listen at the door like the pioneers.
We've had 4 of these cameras for almost 4 years now we’ve loved it most of the time BUT this last update is trash. I can’t click on the notification to bring me to the camera anymore now it takes me to the motion log. When i go to the app by switching tabs it won’t load the camera I was on, I have to go to my other camera before the one I was on will load. When you’ve got a screaming kid and you need to let them know you’re on your way so they stop and don’t wake up the others the speed of the camera is really really important for my sanity. They have been perfect for us for a long time and I’m really upset that this update is such a headache I literally want to throw them away and get different ones please fix this or go back to the previous version.
Very good self-monitoring without cloud subscription. SD Cards record in HD on the hubs which can be slightly challenging to connect to home network as it is only WPA 2 personal compatible, requiring to step encryption down from WPA 3. Batteries last a couple months before needing recharging for doorbell and procams. I keep a spare doorbell battery handy. The doorbell ringing via the hub is not loud enough so I took a start down from five to four stars in my rating. The other issue is the doorbell is not waterproof, I had one die of moisture after a storm, and replaced easily via warranty as I made sure to register via the Nooie app. I’ve put painter’s tape around the mount and back of the doorbell to seal the seam and also put a curved plastic sheet over the top of the doorbell to prevent water from splashing onto the lens, which fogs up with moisture when exposed to direct rain. So that’s the second star removed and now we’re down to three stars. The Nooie app allows viewing each cam and also sends alerts if the cameras are set to alert on person detection. This is very useful and works over the internet. I don’t know if it’s secure and so wonder if privacy is being compromised here. At night, the cameras switch on B&W using IR so this is not good behind glass windows.
