Skincare Routine

I truly didn’t think I could love an app so much. I’m new to skincare, but when I get into a new hobby, I get *into* it. I’ll spend hours researching, putting info in spreadsheets, etc. I read about this app on Reddit and was intrigued. People had rave reviews so I downloaded it and omg I am so impressed. As someone who loves all my data to be organized, I love how many little details I can include in the products and how many customization options there are. The app is as meticulous as my routine and makes doing it even more organized, which makes it more fun for me 😅 I’m someone who loves tracking ROI (and I’ve already gotten incredible ROI from this app alone), so the fact that this app not only tracks usage, but also tells me the actual $ value I’m getting from the product, is amazing. The developer is super responsive to feedback, which I appreciate so much. They have thought of literally everything in terms of customization, and the guide is so clear. I love how it shows potential conflicts but also gives the option to ignore them. I have done far too much research to be considered sane, but for someone just getting started, the automatic layering suggestions are so helpful! I only wish I had discovered this app sooner. If you love organizing and tracking your skincare routine, you NEED this app!

Update: Developer took the time to respond and show me how to use the app and so far it’s been great! Initially found this app recommended by a commenter on a skincare video I was watching. I’m an avid fan of skincare but there are so many confusing steps and videos out there that this app seemed like the best way to stay organized. While it’s already preloaded with Deciem (The Ordinary) products, I noticed that the products they had listed conflicted with what the official Deciem website suggests. Ex, I have the Glycolic Acid toning solution and the “Buffet” serum. I entered them in the app and it pre-filtered my routine with them in even though the Deciem website says they conflict and I shouldn’t use the acid with a peptide. It isn’t until I looked further into settings that I found a note saying that if the checkbox is red, there might be a conflict. It doesn’t tell you which products conflict with what though because all products are listed in your routine. If anything this is a good checklist to have at night if you forget what order you should do your skincare in but that being the case, I ended up just researching and labeling my products instead so I remember the order.

This app is a great reminder, it tells you if you have conflicts when applying your steps. In my case I have scheduled weekly concentrated exfoliations, sometimes i forget if i’ve done it. It also moves the date to the next day if i forgot. I use alot of products and i like to change brands according to my skin status, for example i have more than one toner some got AHA’s some don’t, some are oil based some are not, i like to alternate between them and that helps when ur doing alot of chemical or physical exfoliating. The only thing that I didn’t enjoy is adding my products to create a custom list. I use different brands I don't stick with one line. In this app the only brand i found that i use is The Ordinary, in my case i also use other brands like Tatcha, Sunday Riley, fresh, Neutrogena, Eucerin, Lancer, and others. For these products i had to add each one of them to create a list with pics and information like product type, ingredients, descriptions, to allow the app configure if there are conflicts in your layering my steps. I hope the developer will add more brands.
