I’ve been using the Budweiser red light and the app to watch hockey for four seasons now. I knew they switched from that app to this Budweiser Sports app, and the reviews were not good. Basically people say they can’t get their red light to work. So I held off. But it seemed they stopped supporting the old app recently because the light stopped working. Therefore I felt i had no choice so I downloaded Budweiser Sports, followed the instructions to link my red light during a game, and it worked right away. It’s been five games now and the app has worked 100 percent of the time. It never fails to signal a goal. I think the app is improved, because the slider for goal delays is a lot more precise.

Oof, where to begin. I’ve had my light for about 2 years now. It’s been a fun addition to my hockey watching experience. But at this point, the mere sight of this app on my home screen gives me a headache. Since this last major update, It will NOT connect. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting solutions: replaced the batteries, checked my Wifi connection, prayed, bashed my head against the wall, proofread for any typos when I type in the wifi network and password (which my God, just give me a list to choose from. What are are we doing here). I’ve tried it all. I get a single green light for a fraction of a second, then back to the blinking red light of doom. I’ve tried this dozens upon dozens of times, same story every time. I appreciate the app warning me not to not to try the connection process if I “sugger” from seizures. But I’m more worried about the impending aneurism if I keep trying to get this app to work correctly. Thank you for making my goal light an $150 cinderblock. It was fun while it lasted.

I’ve only had the app for this season as I just purchased the Red Light earlier this year but so far it works. I have noticed that due to live TV “delays” sometimes the red light will go off a few seconds before the goal is scored on TV. I’m not sure if that’s an app or red light thing but I consider it a bonus because if I happened to be looking at my phone or talking to someone when the light goes off before the goal is scored on TV, I’ll focus my attention on the TV and watch the goal scored live. The rest of the time the Red Light goes off a few seconds after the goal is scored on live TV.
