Been using this application since itโs rollout and have noticed a lot of changes for the better, starting out it took awhile to understand some of the lingo used in the app but after some updates and sending feedback a turn around was noticed. Issues Iโve noticed are when conducting a sprinkler inspection the amount of times being asked when the five year internal obstruction test was completed, seems redundant. Also An example of using the ST1 Box or Exac tech box, while performing a sprinkler inspection Iโve come across panels not showing me tampers and flows, but appear in the Fire Alarm report downloaded for the same building, the explanation given was that tampers and flows fall under NFPA 72, but if weโre to use this box the points should be downloaded to its respective report. Also have come across both Sprinkler and Fire Alarm devices mixing into one report from panel downloads.
I have been using this application since it was a project rollout. The app has come a long way since the beginning, and still continues to improve. I have personally offered opinions and concerns over the application and have seen some of them come to life. As an inspector who performs inspections within multiple fields I see some things that others might not notice. It is being uniformed across the different inspection sub fields to help with this issue. The biggest improvement that I have seen is with the healthcare Joint Commission format. There are still a few things I would like to see as I have been through many accreditation surveys with my customers. I have seen reviews that mention the ability to type information into an excel form rather than the phone app. This is already something that has been done as all that has to be done is typed up and completed and then sent up to the CIS team to import into the customer. The turnaround is now pretty quick and something that has been improved tremendously. The application is only as good as the information that is put into it. The more detail and time taken with the reporting the more chance that it will stand out in quality vs other reporting methods.
Iโve been using this app for almost a year now as a fire alarm inspector. Over the course of that time, Iโve seen major improvements that really solidify Xaap as a great tool for inspections. It is by no means perfect, but a good portions of the issues I had when I first started using it have either been fully addressed, mitigated to a minor issue, or found some sort of workaround to avoid it altogether. The support team is also very responsive to feedback, which is very helpful when we see ways the team can improve the app. Pros: โขThe final fire alarm report, in its current state, is visually clean and informative. โขSearching, Filtering, and sorting devices makes documenting testing far quicker than it was before.โขContact information is more detailed than what was previously provided through other apps; Also allowing Techs, to save and update information for future inspections.โขWeb based report history helps immensely with record keeping.Cons: โขData entry is still a tedious process. Building larger inspections can be very time consuming.โขSometimes, poor internet connectivity can cause limited functionality that sometimes results in data lossโขDue to ACE integration, Customer/Building names have duplicate listings; sometimes 3 or more listings for the same customer location. If not searched and selected properly you will not be able to see previously built reports, or updated inventory of devices.โขGenerated PDF reports names are egregiously long and due to most customers being labeled by address, show the address name twice and do not reference the customer name as we see it on WOM
