To be honest, this is the best vocabulary app I have ever come across. It somehow has an incredible magic power to turn the tedious vocabulary learning into an intriguing journey. I could have given a perfect 5-star rating if I werenโt frustrated by some annoying bugs. 1. It crashes too often. It seems that the software development has sort of quality issue. Sometimes it suddenly flashes out. In other times it starts getting slower and slower and eventually comes to a halt that freezes my iPad completely. 2. โSync devicesโ doesnโt work well. After using the app on two devices for some time, they parted the way and went with their own progresses. 3. The โchrome extensionโ looks messy with so many green underlines. Sometimes, the pictures take forever to load, and I really mean โforeverโ. 4. The AI-generated pictures sometimes donโt relate to the words closely. Also, they could be hilarious like popping out a dude with three arms. However, this is not a big deal as most of the times they reflect what the words mean and it really helps retaining the words in my weak memory. Except for the above, the app does a good job as an awesome learning tool which fulfills what itโs supposed to do and sometimes even surpasses my expectation. So I paid the lifetime fee without thinking too much. Big thanks to the developers and wish the app better and better.
They removed the learn now feature. Now you canโt learn new words as you choose - instead the app decides which words you learn in their order. They used to let you do both. I subscribed for that feature. Now they removed it. Makes no sense that we cannot decide what we want to learn. Tragically, this app does not work anymore. Will unsubscribe after my current subscription. Update after the developerโs response - still does NOT make sense you removed a pre-existed feature and refused to restore it when so many users are asking for it. Check the recent reviews. You said you guys are trying to come up with a new feature that caters to each userโs learning trajectory, wouldnโt it be much better and reasonable for us to decide what we want to learn instead of letting the app to do it? Plus, the app is already deciding what we can learn so this new feature honestly just sounds like a duplication of somewhat the same thing. This app used to be really good but the more they update it the worse it becomes. If you look at the reviews, they used to be so good now they are all talking about similar things. Full of bugs, essential features removal, etc.. And even with so many users asking, they refuse to listen. App developing and software engineering need to seriously work on this. Update: they restored the learn now feature in the newest update. Please donโt remove it again.
This app has some great features such as photos, videos, and several sentences that help the user get a good grasp of the words. Its limitations that Iโve found so far in this Pro Trial and of course with the free version is that while you can import a list from another source, having multiple lists to keep categories separate, are not available. Another short-coming is that once the user has gone through the list once, it is not available to go through again and new words must be studied โ not the same words for review and thereโs no way around it. One other thing Iโve noticed is that when importing words to study, many are not available, making it so many can not be studied with this app. Iโve also noticed absolutely no difference between the free version and the Pro so thatโs something to think about. Why pay for the exact same limited features that you can get for free? ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ 9/5/23 โ Is the developer serious? He responded by saying they are pleased I enjoy the app and if thereโs anything they can doโฆ Did they not read my entire review?
