2248: Number Puzzle 2048

This game is a bit better than all the other "2248" or "2048" powers-of-two games. But it has two flaws that eventually make it unplayable. The worst is a nasty concurrency bug that makes the game freeze a lot. It can freeze while you're moving number tiles (which screws up the move), while it's showing an ad, while it's doing the little "reward" diamond animation, or while doing nothing at all. Once it freezes, you just have to wait 5-20 seconds, or more, for it to come back. Occasionally it never comes back and I have to force-quit the game. The freezes seem to happen more often and to last longer as you get to higher levels. I got to about level 20 before giving up. At that point they happened around once a minute on average, sometimes even more often. (This is on a 2020 ipad Air; no idea about other devices.) There are also way too many ads, as usual for this kind of game. One or two per level would be okay, but this thing just bombards you with them. And it's the same ones over and over. This game sometimes lets you skip the ads sooner than a lot of other games do, which is a plus, but sometimes it doesn't, and occasionally it just freezes during the ad. It's gotten to the point where I'm spending more time waiting for the freezes and the ads than I was playing the actual game, so I'm giving up and looking for other games.

2248 is very fun and it’s also good for little kids to learn their math facts like for example it’s super fun and you get to go to another levels and make but also the thing is you get to make numbers and it’s learning so you can find the numbers together and see how you can try to make that number it’s super fun and you’re learning your math facts. That’s why I gave 2248 five stars.

I originally started playing this game for other purposes surrounding a promotion deal for a clothing franchise, however, I have come to sincerely enjoy playing this game! It is repetitive due to the sole objective being merging numbers to create larger numbers. But it runs smoothly and the sound effects used are rather satisfying. So, if you enjoy playing games that involve strategy and need something relatively simple to pass the time, I highly recommend this game. :)
